7 Reasons to Get into Crafting

Many of our products at Many Joyful Things offer opportunities for crafting. The printable games in our Made for You Games range can be printed, cut out, coloured and put together before being played, as can the games from our Edmund and Joy range. The printable books from our Edmund and Joy range can be assembled, as explained in our blog post ‘How to Assemble Our Printable Picture Books’ and our other printable books can be assembled too.

What is crafting?

Crafting is an activity in which various materials such as paper, scissors and pencils are used to produce things that typically have an artistic quality to them.

Reasons to get into crafting:

It can make a good hobby

Crafting is a great hobby and a very popular one too. There are lots of craft supplies available such as colouring pencils and book binding machines. There are also craft clubs in which people enjoy crafting together, although crafting can be enjoyed as a quiet solitary activity too.

It can be relaxing

Crafting can be a relaxing activity in which to unwind.

It can use your artistic skills

It can be enjoyable and satisfying to use your artistic skills to assemble beautiful items such as books and games that can later be enjoyed.

It can be done to make something for someone else

It can be a giving thing to do if you are making something for someone else. You can assemble books and games to give as gifts or to enjoy with someone else. The games from our Made for You Games range even include a gift tag that you can add to a beautifully packaged gift that you are giving.

It can be a way of making new friends

You can make new friends through joining craft clubs and through being part of physical or online crafting communities, where people can craft together and share ideas and updates with each other.

It can get you away from screens

Crafting is a great screen-free activity that can help you and/or your children to avoid too much screen time.

It can enable family bonding

It is a great activity to do with children, who can enjoy producing something together with you at the same time as developing their fine motor skills and artistic ability.
